Smart Searching: PsycINFO Online
Is searching the behavioral science literature a new adventure for you? Are you new to using PsycINFO on the PsycNET platform? Not even sure what PsycINFO is? APA PsycINFO is a major database for psychology information used for research in psychology and/or related disciplines, such as medicine, education, social work, social science, and organizational behavior. This workshop will teach you time-saving tips to get the best results on PsycINFO by using search tools such as controlled language, field searches, and filters. This workshop will further demonstrate how you can create publication alerts or access past searches.
After participating in this workshop, you will be able to:
- Locate and utilize the thesaurus/subject terms feature
- Utilize unique searchable fields in PsycINFO, specifically by Test & Measures, author affiliation, and Grant/Sponsorship
- Understand how to set up article publication alerts
It is recommended you attend the Search Smarter, Not Harder workshop or complete the Boolean Searching module and Nesting Search module.
This workshop will be conducted via Zoom. After registration, you will receive the link and password via email. This session will be recorded.
Cancellation policy: The workshop may be canceled due to low enrollment on the day of the planned event. Slides and any previous recordings will be shared via email with anyone registered for the event.
